una receta...

Cociné este plato hace 15 días, pero entre una cosa y otra y que la semana pasada estuve yendo al centro banamex para una conferencia, lo cual incluyó levantarse ~5:30 diario y llegar sólo a dormir, no internet, no tiempo libre, nada... así que después de aprovechar el tráfico que nos encontramos del centro banamex a C.U. en un día de lluvias e inundaciones para terminar un chal ni siquiera encontré el tiempo para desmontar los puntos hasta hoy en la tarde :(

A mí me gustó de plato fuerte pero no soy de gran apetito, pero queda bien como "ensalada", o si le ponen arroz supongo que podría ser plato fuerte.

Ingredientes:

• garbanzos cocidos (si son de lata, enjuagados)
• quinoa cocida
• arroz (opcional), supongo que queda mejor el arroz integral
• jitomate en cubos pequeños
• espárragos sin la parte dura y en pedazos de ~3 cm
• zanahoria picada mediana
• hongos portobello en cubos
• salmón asado, o cualquier pescado
• cebolla picada finamente
• sal, pimienta, azúcar
• aceite de oliva
• vinagre balsámico

Poner a calentar el aceite de oliva y cuándo esté caliente sofreir la cebolla hasta que dore, agregar el jitomate hasta que esté ligeramente cocido, agregar la zanahoria y garbanzos, y dejar un par de minutos hasta que la zanahoria esté justo antes que el punto de cocimiento que prefieran.

Agregar los espárragos, los hongos, quinoa, vinagre balsámico, sal, pimienta y una pizca de azúcar para eliminar el ácido en el vinagre, (si el vinagre que usan es muy dulce, prueben antes de poner el azúcar), en cuánto estén cocinados agregar el pescado y mezclar sólo hasta que esté todo incorporado, servir.

En caso de usar arroz, yo lo pondría junto con el pescado para que no se cueza más y se incorpore en la ensalada.

Se los recomiendo!

Ingredients.

• cooked chickpeas
• cooked rice (optional)
• cooked quinoa
• small cubed tomatoe
• small cubed carrots
• cubed portobello mushrooms
• asparagus in ~ 1 inch pieces
• finely chopped onion
• grilled fish, I used salmon
• olive oil
• balsamic vinegar
• salt, pepper and sugar

Heat the olive oil and cook the onion until golden, add the tomatoes until are a little bit cooked, then add the carrots and chickpeas and let them cook a couple of minutes.

Add the asparagus, mushrooms, quinoa, balsamic vinegar, salt pepper and a dash of sugar, if your vinegar it's too sweet taste if the sugar it's needed, as soon as all it's cooked add the fish and mix until it's all covered.

If using the rice add it with the fish so the rice absorbs the flavor but don't cook more.

Hola a todas!! he andado súper desaparecida, pero entre tesis, que la semana pasada fue mi cumpleaños, (ya tengo 28! y tengo que aceptar que me da miedito estar tan cerca de los 30), y el mundial (Italia descalificada! No se si fue la combinación de estambre y patrón la que nomás no me animaba a tejer, tuve que cambiar como 3 veces de agujas hasta que me acomodé y si no fuera por aquello de terminar proyectos para ganar "puntos" para el equipo de México en el grupo de la copa de fútbol en ravelry creo que nomás no lo hubiera terminado...

I don't know of ot was the combination yarn+pattern or one of tho two but I didn't enjoy knitting it, I changed needles 3 times before I found a pair that wasn't horrible to knit with and I think that I finished only because I get points for team México in the ravelry world cup group.

Nydis, bienvenida! yo aprendí a tejer en la primaria, me enseñaron entre mis guías y mi tía abuela y la verdad es que cada quién agarraba distinto el estambre, hace unos años que retomé la tejida me volví a medio enseñar en 2 agujas y aprendí con videos en internet así que terminé tejiendo "continental" pero no "combinado" como la mayoría de las tejedoras mexicanas, aunque de vez en cuando agarro el hilo distinto y tengo que destejer :) para ver instrucciones sencillas yo creo que lo mejor es el sitio de knitting help, hay muchos videos, son cortos y los puedes ver las veces que quieras, te recomiendo que cheques los que dicen continental que son los que toman el estambre con la mano izquierda. Si tienes más dudas con toda confianza mándame un mensaje en ravelry (ya tienes cuenta verdad?), ahí seguro que contesto antes!

Bueno, me retiro, a ver si me aplico y les traigo un chal la semana que entra!

Hace como 2 meses y medio pedí lana para calcetines para teñir pero desgraciadamente el paquete se perdió, lo bueno es que la tienda dónde lo compré me envió otro paquete y hoy acaba de llegar!!, así que ahora tengo 5 madejas de 400 m listas para teñir, así que si a alguien se le ofrece una por favor díganme :)

About 2 1/2 months ago I ordered some sock yarn for dyeing, but the package got lost, the company where I ordered was super helpful and sent me another package a earlier this month, and now I can say that I have 5 hanks with 400m of sock yarn each to dye, so if someone wants one please tell me :)

Quiero darles las gracias a aquellas que me comentaron en el post anterior o me mandaron mensaje en ravelry, la verdad es que se les agradezco y sus palabras ayudaron mucho, todavía no estoy al 100 pero ahí voy, al menos ahora me metí en la cabeza terminar la tesis para poder empezar un nuevo capítulo pronto.

mi mejor amigo ahora tendrá que ser un "amigo" a secas, sin el mejor, sin la confidencia, sin nada

hay una vacante en mi corazón y en mi cerebro

Auch!

Ayer sufrí un accidente de esos tontos y que uno cree que no pasan, (o sea casi casi la definición de accidente), iba con un poco de prisa porque me urgía llegar con la contadora, con eso de que hoy era el último día, y al bajarme del coche moví muy rápido el brazo derecho hacia atrás (el brazo doblado) y me corté el codo con la puerta del coche (con la puerta de atrás), lo malo es que la cortada fue de 2-3 cm largo y ~1/2cm de profundo así que terminé en el hospital, con inyección contra el tétanos y ~5 puntadas, y gracias a mi pavor a las agujas no pude ver absolutamente nada de la costura, lo bueno es que la anestesia sirvió y tampoco lo sentí :)

Y lo peor de todo es que ahora ando medio incapacitada, sin casi mover el brazo, con el codo vendado, y atrasada en todo.

Yesterday I cut below my elbow with the back door of my car, I was in a rush so I got off the car quickly and in a weird and fast movement my right arm collided with my car, the result was a clean cut of about 1 inch long and 1/8 in deep, I ended up in a hospital with an anti tetanic shot, and about 5 stitches, and as I am very afraid of the needles I couldn´t see anything og the suture, thankfully the anesthesia was good and I didn´t feel a thing :)

The worst part is that now I can´t do a lot of things (as I use my right arm for everything), barely can move my arm, have a bandaged elbow, and I´m behind everything.

El martes voy a que me revise el doctor que me suturo y espero que me pueda quitar las puntadas o que al menos ya no traiga el brazo vendado.

Ahora en mi repertorio hay huesos rotos, quemadas medio graves y puntadas, ya puedo decir que lo único que me falta es una cirugía, je je.

On tuesday I´ll go to the doctor and see if he can remove the stitches or at least remove the bandage.

Now I have in my medical history broken bones, midly serious burns and stitches, now I only have surgery left!!

Espero que el próximo post tenga un poco de tejido y menos sangre (si hubo sangre, hubieran visto la cara de la contadora cuándo me abrió la puerta y me vio con el brazo ensangrentado)

Hola!! Sólo vengo a mostrarles las lanas que teñí la semana pasada para Érika (Uruapan en ravelry rav link).

La primera es una madeja completa, y es un color rojo no tan vivo cómo se ve en las fotos, pero que a mí me gustó mucho. La madeja es semi-sólida:

Las 2 siguientes son 400 m cada una (media madeja), la primera son colores que ella me pidió: turquesa, morado y fucsia:

Para la segunda sólo me pidió que fuera colorida, así que está pintada de turquesa, verde y amarillo:

Lo que más me gustó de esta madeja es que el amarillo es un amarillo/naranja que me encantó, y que el verde es una especie de verde hoja brillante.

En fin, sólo quería mostrárselas y decirles que tengo 3 madejas que buscan dueño :)

El viernes al fin salió del rincón, y me di cuenta que no podía sólo subir las puntadas, porque se ponía toda tensa/rara la tela.

Friday I started working in it again, and realized that I just couldn't carry up the stitch because the fabric ended up really weird.

Y cómo no quería repetirlo todo más bien deshice sólo una columna de 5 puntadas, más la que estaba perdida, 6.

And as I didn't want to re-knit all the hat, I ripped just a column of 5 stitches, plus the lost one, 6.

Luego a tejer para arriba!, como el hilo sólo era para 5 las puntadas quedaron un poco justas, y como se ve en la foto de abajo se ve una columna un poco marcada, esperaba que se quitara con la lavada, pero después de un viaje en la lavadora puedo reportar que no se quitó :(

And then... just knit up! as the yarn was only for the 5 stitches ripped, the column ended up a little tight, I was hoping that washing it would help, but after a trip in the washing machine the column it's still a little marked.

En fin, luego tejí uno para bebé y qué rápido se teje!!

Then I knitted a baby one, and wow, it was fast!

De hecho el grande me queda incluso a mí (se estira!), cómo estos gorritos van para el hospital de niños con cáncer espero que sirvan los dos tamaños dispares.

Actually the large one fits me (stretchy!), both hats are for an oncologyc pediatric ward and I'm hoping somebody will use/love them.

Tengo otros dos fo que mostrar pero no he tenido ganas/tiempo de tomar las fotos, espero que pronto, y cómo hoy algo ando depre creo que me voy a ir a ver una película y empezar a enrollar un estambre, son ~1000m pero quiero hacer la "Anthemion Wrap" que acaba de salir en la knitty de primavera/verano.

I have another 2 fo's to show but I don't have pictures yet, now I'm going to wind some yarn to make the Anthemion Wrap that was just published in Knitty.

Lana pa' Teñir / Yarn for Dyeing

Recuerdan que por ahí de Octubre les comenté que tenía planes para vender lana teñida a mano?, todo esto para apoyarme ya que como saben estoy tratando de terminar la maestría. Creo que nunca lo puse por acá pero en noviembre pedí unas lanas para calcetines que se las quedaron Elisol, Andrea y la última colibridreams (gracias chicas!!).

Ahora me acaban de llegar unas lanas tipo "lace", son 5 madejas de 100 gr/800m y la lana es 100% Supersoft British Bluefaced Leicester, una madeja completa es excelente para una estola o un chal triangular grande, con la mitad o un poco más salen uno de esos triángulos/bufandas que ahora se pusieron tanto de moda.

También tengo en camino 5 madejas de lana para calcetines, esas son 100gr/400m y es 75% lana superwash /25 % nylon, con estas salen un par de calcetines de adulto o un chal pequeño/mediano.

Back in october I decided to dye some skeins to sell, as I've said before I'm a grad student and now that I don't have scholarship this is a little help. In november I dyed some sock yarn that I never had time to put here in the blog, but some girls of our "monthly" knitting meeting bought them (thanks!).

Right now I have 5 skeins of lace yarn, 100gr/800m/875yd of 100% Supersoft British Bluefaced Leicester, a whole skein it's perfect to knit a stole or a large triangular shawl, I've also ordered 5 sock skeins (100gr/400m/437yd) which should arrive in about 2 weeks (post it's very slow right now).

El costo de las madejas es de 250 las lace y 200 las de calcetines, los colores pueden ser semi-sólidos o variegados, por ahora pienso pintar un par de las de lace semi-sólidas y dejar libres por si alguien quiere algún color en particular (nos podemos poner de acuerdo por mail o por ravelry). En cuánto lleguen las de calcetines yo les aviso, de esas una está apalabrada pero las otras están disponibles!

El único cargo extra sería el costo del correo en caso de que no vivan aquí en el df o no nos podamos poner de acuerdo para la entrega.

Si alguien quiere una déjeme un mensaje aquí o mándenme un mensaje directo por ravelry para ponernos de acuerdo.

The cost of the skeins is 20 usd for the lace yarn and 16usd for the sock yarn, plus shipping, right now I'm thinking in dyeing a couple of lace skeins and leave the rest free if someone wants a specific color (semi-solid or variegated), as soon as I have the sock skeins in my hands I'll put it here. In case of someone wants one of this skeins please leave me here a message or pm me in ravelry.

Las lanas las pinto con pinturas no tóxicas y no se despintan ni al tejer ni al lavar, (he tejido con un par de lanas pintadas por mí y no he tenido problemas).

The yarns are dyed using non-toxic dyes and I've used them and haven't had problems of colors running either at the time of knitting or when washing.

Finalmente, aprovecho este espacio para declarar que voy a entrar a una dieta de lanas/agujas hasta que la situación económica se recupere un poco, la única excepción será en agujas que necesite para un proyecto en específico o que rompa el último par de 2.75 mm que me queda :)

Finally, I'd like to use this space to declare that I'm going into a needle/yarn diet until the money it's a little less tight, the only exception will be needle buying for a specific project or if i brake my last pair of 2.75mm needles.

Es un gorro para niño para niños con cáncer de algo que se organizó en ravelry en el foro de tejedoras mexicanas, desgraciadamente ayer contando puntadas a 3 vueltas de acabarlo me di cuenta que había dejado una como 35 vueltas antes :(, lo peor es que el estambre es una mezcla algodón/acrílico y me duelen las manos al tejerlo así que me niego a deshacerlo, voy a intentar subir la puntada hasta adónde llegue y luego coserla por ahí... claro hasta que el gorro salga de la esquina de castigados :)

It's a kids hat that I'm knitting for a pediatric oncologic ward, this is something that was organized in the mexican knitters forum in ravelry, but yesterday I was counting stitches with only 3 rows left and noted that had lost one stitch 35 rows before, the yarn it's an cotton/acrylic blend and my hands hurt when I knit it so I don't want to rip it, I'm going to try carry up the stitch and sew it if I can't carry it to the top, when I don't know because the hat it's in time off for the moment.

Lo compré en tienda etsy sumikoshop y me encantó, se ve súper lindo puesto y la verdad es que no se me hizo caro (6 dólares), y me llegó en menos de 2 semanas aún cuándo viene desde Italia!

I bought it in sumikoshop etsy store and I love it!, it looks very cute worn and I don't think it was expensive (6 usd) and the best it's that it took less than 2 weeks to get here, even when it comes all the way from Italy!

Realmente no me tardé taaanto en tejerlos pero con los ratitos que he tenido para tejer pues no es posible apurarse, lo importante es que ya están terminados e incluso ya han sido usados!

It didn't took me that long to knit them it's just that I haven't had a lot of time to knit, but they are done! and have been used already!

A mí me gustó mucho la lana, no tuve nudos ni mucha "materia vegetal" (ramitas) y siento que quedó una buena tensión, definitivamente la recomiendo, el único detalle es que se supone que es "superwash" pero pude hacer un "spit join" que básicamente es afieltrar tantito el estambre así que yo recomiendo lavarla como si no fuera superwash.

I liked a lot the noro sock yarn, and didn't have any knots or sticks problems, I love the fabric resultant, the only detail it's that even though it's "superwash" I did a spit join so I'd say to wash it like any non superwash wool, but I higly recomend the yarn.

Ando tejiendo ahora unos para mí, pero ya me cansé de serle fiel a un solo proyecto así que a ver cuándo termino algo :), aunque por el momento voy a tratar de terminar lo que ya empecé antes de montar para algo nuevo.

I'm now knitting a pair for me but I'm tired of being loyal to one project, so who knows when I'll have something finished :), the only rule it's to finish my UFOs and not casting on for something new.

I've been hyper busy, but still I managed to finish this shrug last week for a wedding on saturday, the pattern it's easy and looks lovely, and I think the construction it's very clever, and saying the truth I think you could knit this in 2 max 3 days if you dedicate time to knitting it.

El patrón es bastante sencillo y se teje super rápido, yo creo que en una tarde dedicada sale y trae opciones para orejeras y para banda para el cabello. Utilicé retazos de Berroco Ultra Alpaca, de Rebecca Pick Merino teñidos por moi y de Dolly sport rosa para el forro. Son súper calientitas así que recomiendo el patrón ampliamente!!

The pattern it's easy and very quick, I think that you can knit a pair in one dedicated afternoon it also has options for the earmuffs and for headband. I used some scraps of Berroco Ultra Alpaca, Rebecca Pick Merino and Dolly sport for the lining. They are very warm so I recommend the pattern!

Y ahora me estoy dedicando a tejer los calcetines a rayas, ya están en el punto que estaban antes de destejerlos así que de ahora en adelante todo es avance.

En general creo que fue bastante decente, siento que no tejí tanto como hubiese querido, lo único que no puedo creer es que sólo haya tejido un chal en todo el año!!, eso es algo para cambiar este año.

In general terms I think I did well but I didn't knit all that I've wanted, the only thing I don't like it's that I only knit one shawl in the whole year, that's somehting I want to change this year.

Bolsas sin coser, calcetines sin terminar, un chal, un par de guantes y un gorro... el gorro le falta poco (mucho tiempo para tejer el 1o enero) el chal nomás no avanzo porque me cuesta mucho tejer el estambre (drops kid-silk) en agujas de metal sin mucha punta, pero espero que algún día lo termine (la verdad me niego a deshacerlo!), la perfect-purse yo creo que está en camino de ser deshecha, la verdad es que es pequeña y ya no estoy tan entusiasmada con ella, será mejor utilizar el estambre en otra cosa, lo que quiero tejer YA es el par de calcetines a rayas no creo que estén para mi fecha límite (27 en) pero al menos regalar uno será bueno, no?

Purses without sewing, a shawl that's really difficult to knit because of the combination yarn (drops kid-silk) an blunt metal needles, two pairs of socks, one of fingerless gloves and a tam, the tam it's like ~60 advanced (lots of knitting time in new years day) so I think it's on her way out, the perfect-purse it's on her way to frogging, it's small and I'm just not excited with her anymore, the stripped socks I want to finished (at least one so I can gift something) for the 27 jan.
