Hola a todas!! he andado súper desaparecida, pero entre tesis, que la semana pasada fue mi cumpleaños, (ya tengo 28! y tengo que aceptar que me da miedito estar tan cerca de los 30), y el mundial (Italia descalificada! México vs Argentina!) pues el tiempo ha sido súper corto, no he podido ni tejer a gusto en los partidos porque más bien he estado trabajando en la compu mientras los veo :(

Pero en fin, les traigo un chal que había empezado en diciembre, primero para el cumpleaños de mi madre, luego para navidad, año nuevo, reyes, 14 feb, día de las madres y total apenas lo terminé la semana pasada, pero bueno al fin está en sus manos!

I don't know of ot was the combination yarn+pattern or one of tho two but I didn't enjoy knitting it, I changed needles 3 times before I found a pair that wasn't horrible to knit with and I think that I finished only because I get points for team México in the ravelry world cup group.

Nydis, bienvenida! yo aprendí a tejer en la primaria, me enseñaron entre mis guías y mi tía abuela y la verdad es que cada quién agarraba distinto el estambre, hace unos años que retomé la tejida me volví a medio enseñar en 2 agujas y aprendí con videos en internet así que terminé tejiendo "continental" pero no "combinado" como la mayoría de las tejedoras mexicanas, aunque de vez en cuando agarro el hilo distinto y tengo que destejer :) para ver instrucciones sencillas yo creo que lo mejor es el sitio de knitting help, hay muchos videos, son cortos y los puedes ver las veces que quieras, te recomiendo que cheques los que dicen continental que son los que toman el estambre con la mano izquierda. Si tienes más dudas con toda confianza mándame un mensaje en ravelry (ya tienes cuenta verdad?), ahí seguro que contesto antes!

Recuerdan el gorro que hace un tiempo se fue castigado?

El viernes al fin salió del rincón, y me di cuenta que no podía sólo subir las puntadas, porque se ponía toda tensa/rara la tela.

Friday I started working in it again, and realized that I just couldn't carry up the stitch because the fabric ended up really weird.

Y cómo no quería repetirlo todo más bien deshice sólo una columna de 5 puntadas, más la que estaba perdida, 6.

And as I didn't want to re-knit all the hat, I ripped just a column of 5 stitches, plus the lost one, 6.

Luego a tejer para arriba!, como el hilo sólo era para 5 las puntadas quedaron un poco justas, y como se ve en la foto de abajo se ve una columna un poco marcada, esperaba que se quitara con la lavada, pero después de un viaje en la lavadora puedo reportar que no se quitó :(

And then... just knit up! as the yarn was only for the 5 stitches ripped, the column ended up a little tight, I was hoping that washing it would help, but after a trip in the washing machine the column it's still a little marked.

En fin, luego tejí uno para bebé y qué rápido se teje!!

Es un gorro para niño para niños con cáncer de algo que se organizó en ravelry en el foro de tejedoras mexicanas, desgraciadamente ayer contando puntadas a 3 vueltas de acabarlo me di cuenta que había dejado una como 35 vueltas antes :(, lo peor es que el estambre es una mezcla algodón/acrílico y me duelen las manos al tejerlo así que me niego a deshacerlo, voy a intentar subir la puntada hasta adónde llegue y luego coserla por ahí... claro hasta que el gorro salga de la esquina de castigados :)

It's a kids hat that I'm knitting for a pediatric oncologic ward, this is something that was organized in the mexican knitters forum in ravelry, but yesterday I was counting stitches with only 3 rows left and noted that had lost one stitch 35 rows before, the yarn it's an cotton/acrylic blend and my hands hurt when I knit it so I don't want to rip it, I'm going to try carry up the stitch and sew it if I can't carry it to the top, when I don't know because the hat it's in time off for the moment.

Lo compré en tienda etsy sumikoshop y me encantó, se ve súper lindo puesto y la verdad es que no se me hizo caro (6 dólares), y me llegó en menos de 2 semanas aún cuándo viene desde Italia!

I bought it in sumikoshop etsy store and I love it!, it looks very cute worn and I don't think it was expensive (6 usd) and the best it's that it took less than 2 weeks to get here, even when it comes all the way from Italy!

He andado con un buen de cosas y súper ocupada, de ahí que no he tejido cómo quisiera y así que por eso ni he comentando blogs...

Pero bueno, vengo a enseñarles un bolerito que me hice la semana pasada para una boda el sábado, es un modelo bastante fácil y con una construcción bastante ingeniosa, y la verdad sea dicha si uno se sienta a hacerlo yo creo que sale en 2 días máx 3.

I've been hyper busy, but still I managed to finish this shrug last week for a wedding on saturday, the pattern it's easy and looks lovely, and I think the construction it's very clever, and saying the truth I think you could knit this in 2 max 3 days if you dedicate time to knitting it.

I really liked how the yarn stripped, I overdyed it with wilton's gel (turqouise) an generic (violet) cake colorants, I love the resultant colors.

He empezado un guante sin dedos, (sí, creo que es singular), para mi tía, por alguna razón tiene mala circulación en un brazo y me pidió un mega guante así que no se cuánto me vaya a tardar.

I've CO for a fingerless glove (singular) for one of my aunts, she has very bad circulation in her left arm and asked me a glove for it, it's a big glove so I don't know how long it's going to take.

Primero que nada, mi Ribbon Lace Scarf, la cuál la empecé hace más de 1 año(!), pero finalmente está aquí:

First I present to you my Ribbon Lace Scarf, this one I started it in july last year (!), but here it is now:

Creo que el problema es que la bufanda tiene muchas repeticiones (y que bueno, las bufandas tienen que ser largas si no de na'sirven no?), no sé algo en el patrón, me encanta como quedó pero ya he visto por ahí que otros que la han tejido se también dicen que la encontraron muy tediosa, pero bueno el resultado vale la pena :), aparte de que el estambre me encanta, es Malabrigo Lace en un verde variado que en realidad quedó bastante bien no hubo 'pooling' si no que parece que se hicieron rayitas, la verdad fue una buena combinación de patrón/estambre, aunque de volverla a tejer (que el resultado si vale la pena) NO la tejería en estambre lace, si no en algo más grueso que terminara más pronto!!!

I think the problem was that it's too long (but a short scarf is useless, right?) and tedious (and I'm not the only one that thinks that, I've read it somewhere else), but the end result it's georgeous and it's worth it all, I love it!

I knited it in Malabrigo Lace and I really like this yarn, the color was Jaen and I think it was a perfect pairment between yarn/pattern because the colors didn't pool instead they stripped, and I like the way they look.

If I were to knit it again (which I probably will, I like the scarf), I WON'T knit it in a lace yarn but in a heavier weight so I could finish it faster.

Mods: Teji 2 vueltas al principio en derechos, sólo para que quedara más simétrica, no sé cuántas repeticiones tejí sino que tejí hasta que ya no me alcanzaba para otra.

Knit the first 2 rows in garter stitch, so the scarf it's symmetric, I didn't count the number of repetitions, I knit until I didn't have enough for another pattern.

También tengo mi segundo par de Garter Stitch Mitts, éstos son para mi madre de navidad, así que ahora se van a ir a esconder a una maleta o algo así:

El patrón me gusta mucho, y es bastante fácil, lo único tardado es que al final hay que hacer el grafting pero la verdad vale la pena el tiempo. Lo que no me gustó es que como el estambre es algodón y está hecho de muchos hilitos pues luego no los agarraba todos con la aguja y hubo un momento en el segundo guante que agarré hilos de la 2a vuelta en la 5a, claramente me dí cuenta cúando estaba haciendo el grafting así que tuve que volverlo a tejer todo...

I love this pattern and it's really easy too, the only hard part it's the final grafting but it's really necessary and it looks great. I didn't like the yarn I used because it has too many plies and sometimes I didn't grab all of them with my needle, actually in the 2nd one I discovered (while I was grafting, of course) that I had grab some of the plies of the 2nd row in the 5th one, so I have to rip it all...

En la semana espero tener ya fotos de mi sweater, con botones y todo yay!!

Últimamente he estado utilizando bastante pañuelos o bandas anchas para el cabello, (ya me URGE un corte), así dejo que se me seque antes de amarrarmelo, el problema es que ya se me está alaciando, aparte de que tengo muucho y muy pesado, y entonces se esponja muuucho y no hay nada que hacer, por eso a veces me hago permanente, es una maravilla, te pones crema para peinar y listo! (por alguna extraña razón mi cabello es más fácil de peinar ondulado aún cuándo naturalmente es lacio), así que decidí hacerme uno y la verdad es que me encantó el resultado.
Para amarrarlo le puse unos i-cord y creo que de tamaño quedó perfecto.
Lately I've been using a lot of handkerchiefs for the head, I really need a haircut and I usually use my hair a little curly (with the help of a perm, my hair is straight, and heavy, and I have a LOT), because in that case I only use a little of mousse or cream or something and voilà, it's done, but I decided to let it go straight for a while so I need to use a handkerchief so it doesn't puff a lot (my hair), and I really love the result.

Hice una repetición del gráfico estrella, luego el de transición y directo a los bordes, no hice repeticiones del gráfico blossom, tal vez me hubiera gustado hacerlo al revés (1 blossom y no estrella), pero probablemente no me hubiese alcanzado el estambre (no quedó nada!).
I did one repeat of the star chart, then the transition one and went straight to the borders, I didn't knit a repeat of the blossom chart, in retrospective I would like to knit 1 blossom and zero star but I think I've would run out of yarn (I used all the yarn I had)

Un par de calcetines de bebé, éstos son para una amiga de mi madre, no se me ocurrió poner nada para escala, pero se puede ver mi letra en el fondo para un poco de ayuda en el tamaño.

Luego un par de guantes con deditos que ya tienen un rato (2 meses!) en las agujas, con ellos pasé ratos de indecisión, pero finalmente ésta semana decidí terminarlos y entrégarlos, así ya no me van a estar viendo feo desde su bolsita.

I also have a pair of finger-short gloves that I've been knitting on/off for 2 months, finally I decided this week to finish them, so they won't be giving me bad looks from their bag.

Finalmente me he dado cuenta que llevo ya un buen rato deprimida y he decidido empezar a buscar terapia o algo así, ya es mucho tiempo y creo que está fuera de mi control. Darme cuenta no fue fácil pero platicando con jp (al que considero mi mejor amigo) creo que es necesario. No está de más un poco de ayuda, creo...

Así que si alguien conoce un psicólogo/psiquiatra o algo por el estilo en el df, que sea bueno ( y no esotérico porfa), no demasiado caro se agradecen las sugerencias, yo no tengo ni idea de por dónde empezar a buscar.

Hola!, he andado medio desconectada del blog (bastante) y ando súper ocupada con la tesis que va leenta y tenemos una propuesta de artículo que no puede ser terminada si no corrijo lo que tengo.... 

Sin embargo he estado tejiendo!, bastante diría yo, he terminado 2 gorros ( con estambre bulky ), uno de regalo y uno para mí, al fin terminé el Totoro amigurumi que había empezado hace un buen rato (y ahora quiero uno propio), empecé unos Kolenya pero creo que están quedando enormes así que mañana tendrán que ir a una prueba, eso va a arruinar la sorpresa pero al menos le quedarán al destinatario no?

I haven't been blogging at all, I've been working but I've also been knitting, I finished one Totoro, and 2 hats (with bulky yarn), I've started a pair of Kolenya but I think they are BIG so they have to go to a fitting tomorrow, that will spoil the suprise (birthday) but at least they'll be weareable...
También tengo un chal que empecé para una tía, y estoy considerando si empezar la Hemlock Ring, el Selbu Modern o un chal para mí, decisiones, decisiones...

Este totoro lo empecé desde agosto (!), y la verdad desde noviembre o algo así que sólo faltaba coserlo pero por desidia no lo había hecho, quedó super mono y no se que tienen los totoros que simplemente uno se enamora de ellos (no Elisol?)

I started this one back in august and since november (or something like that) only was left the sewing but for one thing or another I hadn't sew it but now it's done and he is just lovely.

El regalo fue para mi tío que cumplió 50 años, fue un Thorpe, y la verdad quería tejerlo desde hace un buen rato y sabía que a él le iba a encantar un gorro con orejas y trenzas, y orgullosamente tengo que decir que sí le gustó, aunque mis primos lo molestan diciéndole que parece vagabundo cuándo se lo pone :)

I knit Thorpe for my uncle, it was his 50 birthday and I thought we would like a hat with earflaps and braids, I have to said that he loved his hat but his children bother him telling he look like a homeless person with it (something they saw in a movie I think)

Para mí me hice el Icing Swirl Hat de Ysolda, hace como 15 días compré su Whimsical Little Knits collection porque quería hacer mousie (r) y al menos uno de los chales que ha puesto cómo preview en su blog, en pre-orden se puede pedir la versión impresa y digital por £12 con envío internacional gratis así que haciendo cuentas de 3 patrones vi que me salía al costo :), y justo después de comprarla salió este gorro, lo hice con un estambre que tenía casi 1 año en mi stash y estoy más que fascinada con él, lo he usado y lo volvería a tejer sin reparos (aparte de que está listo en 2 sentadas), todavía no tomo fotos modelando espero en algún momento del fin de semana tomarlas...

Finalmente terminé los calcetines de mi madre, mi plan era terminarlos el 31 (último proyecto del 2008) pero los últimos preparativos de la cena lo hicieron imposible, así que los terminé el 1o en la mañana mientras esperaba a que todo mundo se levantara :), y hoy le cosí los hilos sueltos y les tomé sus fotos, así que en vez de cumpleaños resultaron de Reyes, pero regalo al menos no? (evitaremos fijarnos que me tardé casi un mes en que estuvieran listos, sí?)

My mother's socks are ready!!!, I wanted to finish them the 31st so they became the last FO of 2008 but the new year's eve dinner didn't let me, so I finished them the 1st while I wait to everyone in my family to woke up, and today I waved the ends, so this are a gift, only not a birthday gift but a Reyes gift (in mexico the 6 of january Los 3 Reyes Magos, the 3 wise men, give gifts to the children, kinda like Santa Claus), we'll just forget the fact that they are almost a month late, ok?

Mods  : Sólo la desmontada, utilicé un picot bind off (piquitos) sólo que los dos calcetines son distintos, casi ni se nota pero cuándo desmonté el segundo no tenía mis notas y lo hice a lo que se me hizo más parecido, después me di cuenta que son diferentes pero no es tan terrible 

Only the BO, I used a picot BO, both socks are different, when I BO the 2nd one I didn't have my notes with me so I BO the more similar to the 1st one but later I realize the BO it's not the same, but you really can't tell unless you count stitches :) so I'm leaving it like that

Hoy también terminé otro de mis proyectos eternos, fotos mañana, ahora sólo tengo 1 cosa en las agujas (NO!), así que mañana mismo empiezo otra cosa, un gorro el Selbu Modern (rav), hasta hice mi mini muestra, la lavé y todo, la alpaca se estira muchísimo y no quiero hacer un gorro que al final sea enoorme, así que será tejida en agujas de juguete 1.75 para el borde y 2.5 para el cuerpo, a 2 colores, ahí cuándo pierda la paciencia recuérdenme que es por gusto :)

Today I also finished one my eternal projects, tomorrow I'll take pictures, and now I only have one thing on the needles, it's unacceptable, so tomorrow I'll CO the Selbu Modern hat (rav), I even knit a mini swatch because alpaca stretches and grow and I don't want to end with a gigantic hat, so it'll be knitted in 1.75 mm (US 00) for the border and 2.5 mm (US 1 1/2), so please when I loose my patience (it'll happen) remind me this is something I like and want.
